Philadelphia indie rock band Gladie takes the Brewings & Eats stage Saturday, June 27. The five-piece group arrives in Rehoboth fresh off a new album and nationwide tour.

Turning Up the Volume on Summer

The self-described “beer geeks with a music problem” over at Dogfish Head are back at it again, bringing us another summer filled with live music, good vibes, epic collabs and, most importantly, craft beer.

Music has been part of the zeitgeist at Dogfish since the beginning back in ’95. And while Brewings & Eats, their Rehoboth Beach brewpub, has had a bit of a glow-up since the early days, music is still a centerpiece of the brand 31 years later.

“Music is at the heart of so much of what we do here at Dogfish Head, especially at Brewings & Eats,” says Sam Calagione, Dogfish Head brewer and founder. “At the brewpub, we’ve always considered ourselves the local hub for ‘Original Music,’ so to be able to take that to the next level this summer with this stellar lineup of live music performances is really exciting.”

Speaking of a stellar lineup, here’s what’s coming up in the here and now.

On Thursday, June 25, Southern Avenue is returning to Brewings & Eats. This award-winning, Grammy-nominated, Memphis-based family band blends blues and soul to provide an energetic evening. Songs like “Rum Boogie” off their latest album, *Family*, will certainly get you on your feet, so bring your dancing shoes. The show starts at 9 p.m.

The following evening, Friday, June 26, Valentina Sounds Duo will be performing, and on Saturday, June 27, Gladie will be gracing the stage in Rehoboth. Hot off a new album and nationwide tour, Gladie, the five-piece Philly-based indie rock group, showcases unshakable melodies sure to get stuck in your head. Both of these shows start at 9 p.m. as well, so caffeinate appropriately those days.

The sounds reach beyond live music at their locations. From huge collaborations with global forces like the Grateful Dead, Miles Davis, The Flaming Lips and even *Rolling Stone* magazine to local, one-off, brewpub exclusives, the music works its way into their beer as well.

Case in point: Setlist Shuffle.

This unfiltered IPA series is fun. While the core recipe stays pretty much consistent with each rendition, the brew crew changes up the hop varietals used in each batch and switches up the setlist for your taste buds, so to speak. The latest version of Setlist Shuffle released last week and features Krush hops, known to be highly aromatic with tropical, fruit-forward notes.

So, you can have your music and drink it, too.
