If you follow the local beer scene, you may not be familiar with the name Three Notch’d, but it’s time you get acquainted.
Three Notch’d Brewing Company first opened its doors in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2013. In the thirteen years that have followed, they’ve opened seven more locations across Virginia, South Carolina and now, right here in Rehoboth Beach.
Three Notch’d officially opened up shop on Route 1 a few weeks ago in the space formerly home to Iron Hill Brewing. From beers brewed in-house, to an inviting food menu, to an outdoor patio, to a full bar, Three Notch’d is definitely worth a visit.
Let’s dive into the details.
From the kitchen, Three Notch’d is serving up elevated pub fare they describe as “chef-driven comfort food.” Think shareable starters like wings and coastal mussels, a variety of soups, salads and flatbreads, handhelds and burgers, and entrées like fish & chips, crab cakes and salmon. They’ve got a little something for everyone on the menu, including gluten-free and vegetarian options, as well as a kids’ menu.
Their beer menu follows suit, with a variety of ales, lagers and sours.

Start with a Del-Light, their house lager. Crisp and clean, and at 4.2% ABV, this one goes down easy.
Looking for hops? Definitely give Minute Man or King of Clouds a try. Minute Man is a more traditional American IPA: clear, hoppy and a bit more bitter. King of Clouds is a hazy IPA brewed with Citra and Nectaron hops, so expect juicy, citrusy goodness from this one.
Finally, check out their Passion Fruit Gose. It’s a little sweet, a little tart and a lot refreshing.
As for their local brewpub exclusives, we are in good hands.
Three Notch’d brought Craig Parmenter aboard to run their 10-barrel Rehoboth brewhouse. Parmenter is an industry vet, spending more than a decade at spots like Crooked Hammock, Big Oyster and Dewey Beer Company. He now comes aboard as the head brewer and is ready to bring his expertise to the Three Notch’d draft list.
“I’ve been in the industry for thirteen years now. I’m excited to bring the skills I’ve learned along the way and some of my own recipes to Three Notch’d,” Parmenter says.
He brewed his first few batches last week, so those beers should be hitting their taps later this month.
So, next time you’re stuck in one of those “What should we do for dinner?” debates, I recommend giving them a shot.
While Three Notch’d may be new to Delaware, they’ve been dialing in their craft for the past thirteen years, much like their new head brewer, so I’m stoked to see what they bring to the local brewing community.
We’ll wrap with a warm Brewsworthy welcome to the neighborhood
