Every so often, serendipity strikes. Worlds that seem unrelated collide in a kind of harmony. Could it be kismet? Maybe. Or maybe it’s just what happens when one of your favorite local breweries teams up with one of your favorite local bands.
On Thursday, Aug. 21, Thompson Island Brewing Company will host its annual Live Music Beer Dinner, this year featuring the legendary Lower Case Blues. The evening kicks off at 6 p.m. and wraps by 8 p.m. In addition to the guaranteed grooves, expect a four-course meal from Chef Raul Rodriguez with beer pairings by Brewmaster Jimmy Valm – plus face-melting solos from guitarist Jake Banaszak.
The menu is as much a show as the music. First up: sweet corn gazpacho with lemon butter poached lobster, paired with Wavecheck, Thompson Island’s Belgian Witbier. Then comes a honey-kiss melon salad with prosciutto and Rays heirloom tomatoes (if you know, you know) alongside a Hazy IPA. The third course is braised beef brisket with mushroom risotto and Brussels sprouts, matched with Alpine Summit, a Double IPA. To close, dessert: a peach and pomegranate galette paired with a pomegranate kettle sour.
Tickets are $78 per person, gratuity included. “We always look forward to our annual live music beer dinner because it allows us to showcase our favorite local artists and share their incredible music with our friends,” says Lauren Bigelow, Director of Marketing at Thompson Island. Good music, good beer, good food – the holy trinity. I’ll cheers to that.
