Summer is in full swing around here. After a day at the beach, you may find yourself parched, in search of a local watering hole to wet your whistle. Look no further. With two locations and more than 40 taps combined, Rehoboth Ale House is the ideal spot for craft beer connoisseurs and casual drinkers alike. If you’re along the coast this summer, be sure to add them to your list.
The downtown Rehoboth location is entering its 10th summer season. Situated just off the boardwalk on Wilmington Avenue, you’ll hear live music multiple nights a week. It’s cozy, it’s divey, and it doesn’t disappoint.
Rehoboth Ale House opened its second location five years ago on the “Forgotten Mile” between Rehoboth and Dewey. On The Mile offers more space, outdoor seating, and free parking.
An extensive draft list is guaranteed at both locations, with a wide variety of styles, strengths, and flavors. They offer a solid lineup of IPAs and lagers, along with more obscure sours, stouts, and Belgian-style ales. I recommend checking out RAHsome Sauce, their house light lager brewed in collaboration with Burnish Beer Company in Salisbury, Maryland. It’s also one of the few places you can find cans of Montucky Cold Snacks, a guilty pleasure of mine. If you know, you know.
“When we started in 2016, we wanted to have a quality and thoughtful craft beer program for our guests,” says Adam Newman, owner of Rehoboth Ale House. “Food, wine, and cocktails followed after adding talented individuals to our family along the way.”
Rehoboth Ale House’s menu is also noteworthy. Expect elevated bar food with plenty of snacks, sandwiches, and shareables. “We have always strived to have something for everyone, and to offer an approachable, comforting, and fresh food menu,” Newman shares.
To that point, the Philly roast pork sandwich is the best I’ve come across outside of the city.
What else is going on? Joey Harkum will be making a stop on his tour at Rehoboth Ale House July 23. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the show kicking off at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at rehobothalehouse.com. Don’t sleep on these. Tickets sold out last time Harkum played On The Mile.
“Our love of sports and the live music scene quickly became a focus at both our locations over the last 10 years. We are happy and so grateful to have had our feet dug in the sand here in Rehoboth Beach for this long and cannot wait for many more.”
I’ll cheers to that.
