Nestled on a quaint, canalfront corner in the first town of the First State sits the Dogfish Inn. Just a hop, skip and a jump from town, the beach, bike paths and the ferry, it’s the ideal spot for vacationers and staycationers alike.
When the creative geniuses at Dogfish Head get behind a project, you can guarantee it will be special. The Inn is no different. With cozy, dog-friendly rooms, tasteful, beer-centric decorations aplenty and a fire pit that resembles more of a witch’s cauldron, guests are in for a treat.
Something that sets the Inn apart is its off-centered adventure options. With proximity to multiple scenic bike trails, Dogfish Inn has always had a good relationship with bicycles. They even have complimentary Priority bikes, helmets and locks available for guests.
Recently, they introduced The Sherpa Adventure, an ultimate excursion for beer lovers and bike lovers alike. This guided e-bike expedition starts at the Inn and winds its way toward Brewings & Eats, Dogfish Head’s brewpub in Rehoboth Beach, cruising through some of the most scenic natural settings the Lower Slower has to offer. Riders work with their sherpa guide in advance to plan a route that is comfortable for them.
Upon arrival at Brewings & Eats, guests get a behind-the-scenes look at how beer comes to be with an exclusive brewhouse tour. So exclusive, in fact, that the only way to tour this brewhouse is by being on a guided Sherpa Adventure.
Learning about beer and the brewing process is a mouth-watering experience, so naturally, drinking a beer is the next stop. Adventurers can wine and dine, or brew and chew in this scenario. Heck, Dogfish is even offering riders a free pizza at this point.
Once everyone is refueled, a leisurely, rolling return to the Dogfish Inn is next, but not before a pit stop at The EmPOURium, Dogfish’s merch and beer-to-go depot, where riders receive a generous 25% off the bill.
The Sherpa Adventure doesn’t stop upon returning to the Inn. The trip concludes with conversations around a campfire, a perfect time to recall highlights from the ride. And no campfire is complete without s’mores, so you know all the essentials will be available.
Bikes, beers, nature and a s’moresy campfire nightcap … talk about a sweet ending to an even sweeter day.
