Lewes Brewing Company is heading into its second full summer season after first opening its doors in the fall of 2024, and the excitement surrounding the brewery continues to grow.
Following a successful debut year, the team is gearing up for an even bigger and busier season as visitors and locals alike return to the Delaware beaches.
Conveniently located right along the Georgetown-Lewes Trail, the brewery offers the perfect stop whether you’re on a bike ride, enjoying a walk into downtown Lewes, or simply looking for a place to unwind after a day at the beach.
As America’s 250th birthday celebration approaches, Lewes Brewing Company is joining in on the festivities with plenty of red, white and brews. To honor the upcoming semiquincentennial, the brewery introduced Lewes 250, an easy-drinking American lager brewed with American-grown Hallertau hops. Crisp and refreshing with a light floral aroma, it’s the kind of beer made for warm summer afternoons.
Lewes 250 is currently available on draft and in cans at the brewery and select retailers throughout Sussex County.
In addition to Lewes 250, there’s a little something for everyone on the menu. Lagers, red ales, Irish stouts, West Coast IPAs and more can be found, but here are a few of my must-tries.
Sun N Sand, their Helles lager, is the ultimate post-ride or post-walk beverage after a day on the trail. Citra Bomb is a citrusy New England IPA weighing in at 6.4% ABV that’s also worth adding to your list.
Guests looking for something beyond beer can also enjoy house-made hard seltzers and a selection of local wines.
The experience goes beyond drinks, too. Lewes Brewing Company features daily local food trucks, including favorites like Lola’s Caribbean, Cocoterra, La Pinkeria and Cruising Crab, giving guests plenty of options to pair with their pints.
Weekly live music and entertainment add to the atmosphere throughout the season. Upcoming events include live music from Rodney Jones Friday, May 29, from 6 to 9 p.m., along with a special Kricket Comedy event Saturday, June 6, at 9 p.m.
Visitors are encouraged to check the brewery’s website and social media pages for updated event schedules, food truck lineups and new beer releases.
Whether you’re hopping off the trail for a quick pit stop or spending the evening there, Lewes Brewing Company is sure to be a go-to spot for the summer and beyond.
