Crushes, Choruses, and Carbs: A Week That Hits All the Notes

If Memorial Day was the amuse-bouche, this week is summer’s appy – equal parts music, art, carbs, and a few emotional sucker punches. Let’s do this!

May 31 – June 1: Crush Out Cancer Weekend

This one’s for Rilla – two days of food, drinks, and support for Delawareans impacted by cancer. You’ll cheer, you’ll cry, you’ll hug strangers in line for orange crushes.

June 1: Songwriter Night at Bethany Beach Bandstand (7:30 p.m.)

I’ll hit the stage with Nate McCormick, Julie Derrick, and Mariano Mallia. Stories, melodies, and maybe one song that wrecks you – in the best way.

Now Showing: Tim Barton at the Rehoboth Art League

Friend of the Booth and one of our favorite artists. Thoughtful, weird, textured work in an inspiring gallery space.

June 2: Nate McCormick at Westside Creative Market

Nate Part Deux – Booth staff and one-man band serenades your soul among artisan candles and reclaimed wood cheese boards.

June 4: Justin Trawick at Red White & Basil (5:30 p.m.)

Booth fav – Trawick brings DC songwriter swagger while you sip wine and slurp pasta.

Marissa’s Picks at The Listening Booth:

May 30: The Firewater Tent Revival with Captain Blue’s Grass Band

It’s a foot-stompin’, banjo-slingin’ night of rowdy roots music with The Firewater Tent Revival and Captain Blue’s Grass Band – come thirsty and wear those boots you’ve been keeping ironically.

MORE TO HEAR AND DO AT THE BOOTH

May 29: Plays Well With Others Group Jam Class

June 1: Bruce Katz Band with The Fitzkee Brothers

June 3: All The Leads Recital (free, all welcome)

June 4: Open Mic Night

June 5: The Listening Booth Songwriting Club

June 6: Lower Case Blues and Friends: Scott Tournet
