West Reho is about to get a little bolder, brighter, and a lot more experimental. DAC (Developing Artist Collaboration) is hosting Fresh Art Fridays at their vibrant Artpothecary location this summer. Events kick off June 13 and run through October 3 – transforming every Friday night into a celebration of visionary local art.
The Artpothecary is becoming a hub for the creative underground – where emerging artists are encouraged to take the lead and design their own exhibitions. This isn’t your typical gallery walk. The community is invited to experience work rarely seen in traditional spaces. Every detail is personally curated by the artist, aligning with their vision of a perfect show.
These events pulse with energy – part block party, part art happening – with 100% local flavor. Hosted in tandem with the West Side Creative Market, the vibe leans into street festival territory: live music, food, drinks, open-air creativity, and a dynamic blend of locals, artists, collectors, and visitors coming together under the banner of creativity.
Fresh Art Fridays are all about giving artists a platform to be as bold as they want. It’s more than showcasing art – it’s an opportunity for innovation, expression, and sharing diverse perspectives. New artists often struggle to find space for shows, and those spaces usually come with strict guidelines. This series is a kind of experiment. DAC asked, “What would happen if we gave artists space and let them run with it?” Within days, every Friday night was booked – and the inspiration keeps flowing. Expect the next wave of show dates to hit this autumn – stay tuned.
Opening the series on June 13 is Jeff Arsenault, a longtime DAC artist whose exhibition Myth, Muse & Monsters dives into the fantastical and surreal. A fine artist with a true gift for blending fantasy and classical realism, Jeff’s work has steadily gained momentum, including a recent feature at the Mezzanine Gallery in Wilmington. His story is a powerful example of DAC’s mission in action: providing emerging artists with the space, support, and tools they need to evolve their careers. Over the years, Jeff has honed his craft into a captivating style that’s instantly recognizable. His work is visionary, committed, and daring – classical interpretations of theatrical and imaginal realms. It’s a refreshing departure from what we typically see at the beach.
Admission is free, and all are welcome – from the art curious to seasoned collectors. Whether you’re looking to discover your next favorite artist or just soak up the good vibes, this is your new Friday night ritual.
