Summer doesn’t wait for permission around here. By Thursday, it’s already got its lawn chair out.
Thursday, May 21 – Tonight is your last shot at The Legend of Georgia McBride at Clear Space Theatre in Rehoboth Beach. Tony Award-winning playwright, drag, a broke Elvis impersonator finding himself.
Friday, May 22 – The Milton Theatre hosts Country Queens: A Country Drag Show, which feels deeply on brand for our weird little beach town. Country farmers meet drag queens. Rhinestones, Dolly Parton songs and air conditioning? Yes, Ma’am.
Saturday, May 23 – Rocking the Docks opens its fourth season at the Lewes Ferry Grounds with Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country. Donato played 464 shows at Nashville’s Robert’s Western World before building one of the best live acts on the road right now. He’s closing his spring tour here, on the water, at sunset. Doors 5:30, show at 6, kids 12 and under free.
Also closing this weekend: Dear Evan Hansen at Clear Space, through Saturday, May 23. I have feelings about this show. Go see it. I was an understudy in this one and can safely tell you to bring your tissues.

Thursday, May 28 – Yarn
Nearly 20 years in, four Grammy ballot appearances, and Sirius XM Outlaw Country airplay – and Yarn still plays like they have something to prove. The Americana outfit led by songwriter Blake Christiana draws comparisons to The Band for a reason: the harmonies are real, the songs actually go somewhere, and the whole thing feels lived-in. 7 p.m.
