We have reached the final weekend of August, when summer starts packing its bags but insists on one more song before leaving. Here’s your week, from a famous breakfast in Rehoboth to porch music in Milton.
AUG 27: Ripe closes the Rocking the Docks season at the Lewes Ferry Grounds. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and tickets are $40. Deep Blue Something plays Dogfish Head in Rehoboth at 8:30 p.m. And yes, it is the “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” band. And yes, they are still doing it 31 years later. There is something clarifying about a band that wrote one song everybody knows and simply kept the appointment. Most of us have written zero.
AUG 28: Heidi Lowe Gallery on Front Street celebrates its 20th anniversary from 5 to 9 p.m. Twenty years of art jewelry in a beach town that mostly sells flip-flops. Meanwhile, the Lewes Public Library French Movie Club screens “The Wages of Fear,” a 1953 film about men driving nitroglycerin over bad roads, which is a bold programming choice for the week before everyone drives home on Route 1. Call for the time.
AUG 29: Play Music on the Porch Day comes to Milton, hosted by Frantic Frets. The premise is that on one day, everywhere, people play music on their porches and nobody is in charge. It is the least cynical thing in this column, and I say that with affection.
AUG 30: I am playing the Dover Sunroom series at 3 p.m. if anybody feels like leaving the beach for an afternoon. Dover traffic in August. I am aware of what I am asking, but I promise I’m worth it.

AUG 29: Noah Guthrie With Captain Blue’s Grass Band
Guthrie went viral at 18 with a slow blues version of LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It,” played Roderick in the final season of “Glee,” made the semifinals of “America’s Got Talent,” opened for Willie Nelson and then funded his third record by asking 336 people on Kickstarter for $31,767.
Opening is Captain Blue’s Grass Band, a Sussex County trio formed in 2012 during a jam at a closed bar in Blades. Its debut album is called The All-American Grilled Cheese Sandwich,.
