Vivid Intersections: Artists in Abstract Collaboration

As summer 2025 peaks, you’re invited to immerse yourself in a world of color, texture, and collaboration. Vivid Intersections is a joint art show presented by Rehoboth-based abstract artists Randee Exler and Lisa Lau. Hosted by the Developing Artist Collaboration (DAC) as part of the Fresh Art Friday series, this July 18 exhibit invites viewers to explore the unexpected harmony between two distinct creative voices.

Randee and Lisa are both fluent in abstraction but present wildly different interpretations. Randee’s exuberant compositions practically vibrate with color and intensity. Lisa’s pieces, on the other hand, are spacious and introspective, with fluid gestures that breathe and unfold gently. Together, their show captures the exquisite tension of duality: chaos and stillness, revelry and solitude.

Working in mixed media, using everything from modeling paste and acrylics to ink, paper, and crayon, these artists blur the lines between painting, drawing, and sculpture. The result is a vivid sensory experience that invites viewers to slow down and discover something new in each corner – a stroke that stirs a memory, a shape that recalls a dream.

The artists are remarkable, no doubt. But what makes Vivid Intersections truly unique is its collaborative nature, something not often seen in the gallery world. There’s something powerful about artists sharing space, intention, and vision. It reminds us that creativity doesn’t have to be solitary. When artists support and respond to each other, the work grows, and so does the community.

That spirit of collaboration is exactly what the DAC is all about. Based in West Rehoboth, DAC is more than just an opportunity to showcase work. It’s a launchpad for local talent, a place where artists come together to learn, grow, and build their creative careers side by side. Fresh Art Fridays, held every Friday evening from 5 to 9 p.m. through early October, are just one of many programs DAC hosts to connect artists and audiences in authentic, energizing ways.

Whether you’re a longtime art collector, a curious browser, or an artist yourself, Vivid Intersections is a must-see. It’s a chance to engage with bold, experimental work and to support the artists who are shaping the cultural landscape of the Delaware beaches.

If you’re an artist reading this, consider it your standing invitation to discover DAC. Membership includes access to opportunities where you can show and sell your work, professional development tools, and, most importantly, a vibrant community that believes in art as a force for connection, transformation, and joy.

Discover something new this summer. Meet the artists. Support the movement. Get swept up in the vivid intersections of art, culture, and community.
