Sometimes life offers you a choice: Sit quietly with your crippling anxiety or get out there and attend a mobile opera performance that may include a T-shirt cannon.
OperaDelaware saunters into Lewes Canalfront Park AUG 21 at 6:30 p.m. like Puccini met a monster truck rally. Spoiler: He’d approve – and it’s free.
The next day, AUG 22, you’ve got options. Like choosing between three flavors of cultural enlightenment: Freeman Arts’ free Arts & Jazz Festival (classy) at 4 p.m., the West Side Creative Market with singer-songwriter and friend of the Booth Cecilia Grace (cool) 5 p.m., or staying home and realizing the summer is ending and all your plants are all dying (sad).
And just when you thought you peaked in culture, AUG 25 at 6:30 p.m. invites you to a queer-affirming knitting group aptly named Flaming Knitters inside a Panera Bread. If that doesn’t sound like the softest rebellion imaginable, I don’t know what does.
So grab your lawn chair, your knitting needles, and possibly a helmet (those t-shirts come in hot). Delaware’s arts scene isn’t just alive – it’s operatically caffeinated.

AUG 27 – NextGen Open Mic at The Booth!
Think your kid’s got talent? So do we. Every month, we kick off our open mic night by handing the stage to performers under 18. The first 30 minutes are all about the next generation – giving young artists a chance to shine in a supportive, fun, and zero-pressure environment. We’ll cheer, clap, and maybe cry a little. Let them rock.
