We borrowed the vantage points of some of the Cape Region’s most incredible homes for a glimpse of the ocean, bays, canals and marshes just beyond their windows. The properties may cost millions, but the curiosity is universal: What would it be like to wake up to one of these scenes every morning?
From a bayfront home on Bay Avenue:
Talk about a million-dollar wake-up call. Morning light pours across the Delaware Bay while sailboats, fishing vessels and the occasional dolphin move through the view. From here, that enormous natural system feels close enough to touch.

The Delaware Bay fills the horizon while waves roll onto a beach that can feel almost private. With fewer bright lights than the larger resort towns, the evening brings fiery sunsets, star-filled skies and an occasional glimpse of wildlife passing offshore.
From a home on South Bay Shore Drive:
This may be the ultimate coastal two-for-one. Look east for sunrise over Broadkill Beach and the Delaware Bay, then turn west for sunset over Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge protects more than 10,000 acres of marsh, woodland and open water, making this view a front-row seat to migrating birds and the wild side of Delaware’s coast.

More than 200 feet of shoreline wraps around this quiet cove, framed by protected wetlands and the Indian River Inlet Bridge. Imagine enjoying it from the deck with Champagne while casually checking whether the trust fund is still thriving. At least, that’s how we picture life for the person who lives here.
From a home at The Peninsula:
Indian River Bay, Lingo Creek, tidal marshes and open sky all show up for this spectacular panorama. From this elevated vantage point, the water seems to stretch in every direction, with boats gliding through the bay and sunsets reflecting across the creek. Add the surrounding golf course and this view begins to feel unfair.
From a condo above the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk:
Before the umbrellas go up and the Boardwalk fills with visitors, sunrise paints the Atlantic pink and orange. Imagine sipping coffee on your private balcony while watching everyone else search for parking.

Why settle for one canal when you can overlook three? Sink into the private hot tub, sip Champagne and practice your best rich-person laugh as the boats cruise by. With direct access to Rehoboth Bay, this backyard practically demands a little extravagance.
We’ve had our fun imagining the Champagne, private spas and balcony superiority. But strip away the multimillion-dollar homes and the real prize is something familiar to everyone who loves this place: that feeling of reaching the water’s edge and leaving the noise of the world behind. Fortunately, around here, you don’t need the deed to enjoy the view.
