Entering its ninth year in business, Revelation Craft Brewing is gearing up for another summer season. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk and beach, Rev is situated on the Junction & Breakwater Trail in West Rehoboth near the West Side Creative Market. It’s the perfect little spot to polish off a pint after a bike ride or a day at the beach.
If braving the traffic feels like too much of an undertaking, fear not – your Revelation fix can be found elsewhere. In fall 2023, Rev opened its second location in Georgetown, formerly home to 16 Mile Brewery. The Georgetown location houses Revelation’s production brewery, courtesy of a 15-barrel brewhouse. Rev is also distributed throughout the Lower Slower and can be found on tap at many of your favorite watering holes around town.
Two paragraphs deep and you’re probably getting thirsty. Revelation has something for everyone on their tap list. Let’s dive into a few highlights. We’ll kick things off with something clean and crisp: 1791 is Rev’s refreshing and approachable American pilsner, named after the year Georgetown, DE was founded.
Next up, a tart twist called Razz Sour – a sour ale that runneth over with raspberry flavor and aroma. Razz Sour won a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver in 2022, a big deal in the beer world.
How about some hops? Go ahead and order a Mother-In-Law. While that may sound like a nightmare to many, this IPA is really quite pleasant. Head Brewer Mickey Diefenderfer wanted more family at the table, so he recently brewed up a batch of Grandmother-In-Law – a bold and boisterous imperial IPA.
“Grandmother-In-Law takes our Mother-In-Law to the next level,” Diefenderfer says. “We dry-hopped her with Mosaic and Cascade hops, and at 8.8% ABV she doesn’t disappoint,” he adds. Rev also has black cherry and mango seltzers brewed in-house for the non-beer fans in the crowd.
We’re properly quenched – let’s wrap this thing up. Whether you’re local or on vacation, it’s worth a visit to Revelation. That flowed nicely, let’s try it again … if a revelatory experience is something you seek, head on over to Revelation this week. Be right back, going to put that on a fortune cookie.
