Pups, Pints, and Patios

Summer is winding down and temperatures are finally starting to dip. That makes it the perfect time to get your four-legged friend out for an adventure. The Cape Region has no shortage of pup-friendly spots, but here are a few standouts where you can also grab a pint. After all, what’s better than a beer alongside man’s best friend?

BIG OYSTER BREWERY

Big Oyster boasts one of the best backyard spaces around, so there’s plenty of room for you and Fido. Start with some oysters and pair them with a Solar Power Belgian Witbier.

CROOKED HAMMOCK BREWERY

Just up Kings Highway, Crooked Hammock offers a dog-friendly deck and backyard space. Sip on a beer, hard seltzer, or hard tea – all brewed in-house.

DEWEY BEER CO.

Dewey is for the dogs. Both the Dewey Beach and Harbeson locations have pup-approved patios, with Harbeson even allowing dogs inside the tasting room. Bonus: dog toys are for sale while supplies last.

DOGFISH HEAD

With a name like Dogfish, of course they’re pup friendly. Their Milton brewery allows dogs inside the tasting room and has plenty of outdoor space. Brewings & Eats in Rehoboth has a patio perfect for pups, and even the Dogfish Inn in Lewes offers dog-friendly rooms. (Pet fish not confirmed.)

GRAIN ON THE ROCKS

Grain’s dog-friendly deck comes with some of the best views around. Catch a bayside sunset, then stay for good food and an impressive draft list.

TACO REHO

Not a brewery, but definitely worth a stop. Taco Reho’s patio is dog friendly and the tacos are some of the best in town. Wash them down with a cold cerveza, dirty soda, or a $4 margarita (yes, really). Insider tip: ask for a pup cup to treat your doggo.
