Dogfish Head teams up with the Grateful Dead for a Juicy Pale Ale brewed with granola and Kernza® – a psychedelic sip of summer.

Dogfish Bringing The Sound This Summer

In the last thirty years, Dogfish Head has grown from the smallest microbrewery in the Small Wonder to an international icon in the beer scene and beyond. While beer has been its bread and butter, so to speak, much more goes into brewing up such a brand. Creative culinary concoctions, off-centered approaches, and an appreciation of art and music are all woven into the tapestry that makes Dogfish what it is today.

They’re leaning heavily into the latter this summer and offering live music each week at all locations. The self-described “beer geeks with a music problem” over at Dogfish are bringing the sound to Chesapeake & Maine, Dogfish’s seafood-focused restaurant, as well as its Milton Brewery, with weekly live music.

At Brewing & Eats, their Rehoboth Beach-based brewpub, they’re turning the volume up to eleven. Every other Wednesday, the brewpub plays host to Live Band Karaoke. Guests will have the chance to take the stage and let their inner rockstar steal the show – you know, the one who only comes out once in a while when you’re in the shower or by yourself in the car. You might need a beer or two for liquid courage … good thing this takes place at a brewery.

If stage fright gets the best of you, it’s still worth a visit – you never know who might show up. I’ve personally seen a man dressed as Ozzy absolutely crush a cover of “Crazy Train” that the critics (me) were calling “unforgettable.”

The fun doesn’t stop there. “Since opening our doors thirty years ago, music has been an integral part of our DNA,” says Sam Calagione, Dogfish Head Founder and Brewer. “We’re excited to keep the tunes flowing with free, electrifying live performances all summer long … every Friday and Saturday night.”

This Saturday (May 31), the Rehoboth brewpub will be rocking. Southern Avenue, a Grammy-nominated, Memphis-based blues band, will be bringing infectious grooves to the stage at Brewing & Eats. With Southern Avenue, you can expect a soulful, bluesy blend of an experience. The show runs from 9 to 11 p.m., but the music never stops.

Can’t make it out for the tunes but still want to participate? There’s always beer to drink music to. Dogfish Head recently teamed up with the Grateful Dead to release a melodious Juicy Pale Ale brewed with granola and Kernza®, a sustainable grain rippling its way through the beer world.

Take a trip to your favorite Dogfish Head watering hole and try this collaboration today – just don’t steal your case.

Grammy-nominated band Southern Avenue brings their signature blend of soul, blues, and high-energy performance to Dogfish Head’s Rehoboth Beach brewpub Saturday, May 31. Catch them live from 9 to 11 p.m. as part of Dogfish’s summer music series.
