Legendary Robert Plant visits Dogfish Head

The staff at Dogfish Head’s Milton brewery and Rehoboth Beach brewpub showed Robert Plant, lead singer of Led Zepplin, a “Whole Lotta Love” when he visited the Cape Region for a tour of the brewery.

Plant and his son, Logan toured the brewery before heading down to Rehoboth Beach to check out the Dogfish brewpub on Rehoboth Avenue.

Dogfish Vice President of Sales Adam Lambert, who grew up in London, had a chance to chat with the rock icon about soccer, his son’s brewery and other topics.

“It’s kind of a bucket-list item for me,” he said. “It’s not often one of the greatest rock ‘n’ rollers in history comes through.”

Lambert described Plant as a low-key guy with a dry sense of humor, who often threw out English one-liners.

Plant’s visit was a surprise to everyone at the brewery. Logan arranged a tour through Twitter with Mariah Calagione, vice president of marketing and wife of founder Sam Calagione, but he never mentioned his father or that he would be tagging along. Once in Milton, though, it didn’t take long for Plant’s presence
to be known.

“It was a thrill for everybody,” Lambert said.
